BREAKING: Federal judge blocks employee abortion, IVF protections at thousands of Catholic employers nationwide New, at Law Dork: www.lawdork.com/p/federal-ju...
The group that brought the challenge to a new federal policy argues it cannot be forced to accommodate "immoral infertility 'treatments.'"
tfg isn't even in office and project 2025 shit has started... And the next shoe to drop is gay marriage and protections enjoyed by LGBTQ+ people more generally.
I’m trying to understand the injunction. Is it saying that if an employee received IVF and their boss fired them for it, the EEOC couldn’t defend them in a wrongful termination suit?
Lordy, yet another Federalist Society/Opus Dei collaboration. So nice to see our civil society being turned over to the tender ministrations of the Catholic Church, lock, stock, and barrel.
What exactly makes a corporation Catholic? I'd like to know. When did the Corporation first physically receive communion?
Awful. Does that include welfare agencies run by Catholic "charities"?
i'm just sitting here innocently remembering when the pope told them they had to stop obsessing over abortion
Then said employers need to make this fact very clear on the hiring end. It still won't protect employees who might need an abortion. No one plans those ahead of time. But at least it would make sure their potential employees know what to expect going in.
UPDATE: More on this, including a related Eighth Circuit appeal that was heard today, in my expanded report at Law Dork. www.lawdork.com/p/federal-ju...
