Lovely to be back at Maltby Learning Trust this afternoon to see the completed works funded by ÂŁ5m of Levelling Up Funding that we secured. The facilities really are state of the art, with support for local businesses and brilliant learning opportunities for post-16 students.

At the local elections we committed to create hundreds of apprenticeships for Rotherham residents - it’s great to see these three started with Equans:

Construction careers begin for Rotherham apprentices

“I believe, and I see, actually a desire for some of those small-c conservative values of rootedness, responsibility… honor, duty, Victorian ideas that I think would resonate [with young people] if we conveyed them with authority”, he told the meeting.

Glad the Tories have come to Birmingham to slag off....maternity pay 🤦 I guess it's a welcome break from the people they normally single out to have a pop at. Tomorrow I'm expecting some harsh words to be said about apple pie.

Popped into this morning’s MacMillan coffee morning in Swinton. Many thanks to Gina and Victoria for organising this and raising funds for such an important cause.
