I’ve always liked the idea that if you’re at Point Nemo, the humans that come closest to you are on the ISS. (I’d go there but knowing that fact gets me a lot of ladies and I’d never have time between all my hot dates.)

I really think that the unanticipated problem is going to be the “change” and not the “intensity” part of storms. Louisiana and Florida are basically prepared for hurricanes and strong ones will wreck things but inland areas aren’t prepared at all for the _change_ part those storms will bring.
Bouncy houses were invented around the same time as the Apollo missions and were called “inflatable space-frames” so it’s very possible we discovered bouncy walking on the moon.
