I always hope that judgement has some positive value as precedent, no matter how small ... in return for what it put her grieving family through. Now I have a sense that it does act as a deterrent for other such cases. Thanks again.

The "dusk to dawn" sensor photocell in our outside lit sign seemed to blow, and I had to replace it. Only $8 on Amazon for a replacement, and a fun project with a ladder and a multimeter.
Even cheap surge protectors work folks! We had a power flicker and outage in Magnolia yesterday and it fried an 8-port switch we had on a regular power strip. Everything on the surge protector strips did fine. I'd always been a little skeptical, but there you go.
