A new Kreutz group sungrazing comet was found by the ATLAS survey. groups.io/g/comets-ml/... 🔭☄️

I had no luck this morning using binoculars. Comet too faint for the twilight sky and high extinction due to low height.

Komet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) am 29.9.2024 von 6:27 bis 6:32 Uhr MESZ über Stuttgart. Nikon Z6II mit Canon 200 mm f/2.8. Fünf Aufnahmen von 1/5 s bis 1/2 s gemittelt. Um 6:30 Uhr: Sonne -9°, Komet +3,2°. Mit dem Fernglas war der Komet nicht zu erkennen.

Kann ich bestätigen, visuell mit Feldstecher keine Chance.

According to the forecast tomorrow morning is the only possibility to see #comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) before it moves into the evening sky. Plan to go to the local "mountain" but I fear it won't pan out. The dew point will be just 1.4° shy of the air temperature of only 3.6° = fog. ☄️🔭

Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan–ATLAS) above the smoke haze this morning. Great to catch this comet again now that it is much brighter and in the morning sky. 2024-09-22 04:45 AEST (2024-09-21 18:45 UTC) Sony A7 III: 10 x 3 seconds @ 70mm, ISO 3200 Ma Ma Creek, Australia.

If you mean with "big" the physical size - then no, it is much smaller. If you mean its apparent magnitude it depends which apparition of 1P/Halley you are referring to. Unlike 1P we cannot predict its development with certainty the binocular or faint naked eye comet is currently our best estimate.
