Also this stage is a lot like excavation. Digging into what you have and finding out what it all means. Fun!

I’m 57k into my new book now thanks to the privilege of having time off work for writing. If only there was some way to give everyone the same time like, I dunno, proper support of the arts…

This has a lot of parallels in publishing. A lot of authors find out what their book is - or at the least the best form of it - by working with an editor. They discover how to find that version together, and it can be a surprise to both.

This is like the worst sort of system that Oliver Burkeman considers and rejects I reckon. No to do list, no matter how sophisticated, is ultimately effective. Ditch the lists, be free! :)
