This focuses a bit on multi-echo and inferior colliculus & might be relevant. I'm a bit of a NORDIC skeptic, but I'm hopeful my skepticism can be addressed.
Multi-echo fMRI, particularly the multi-echo independent component analysis (ME-ICA) algorithm, has previously proven useful for increasing the sensit…
FWIW @tsalo.bsky.social and I are the most public faces of the project right now (& currently do the most coding work), but there's a larger community of contributors to code, educational materials, & support. Students or other multi-echo users are welcome to contribute even if they're not coding.
Our newest release allows for correlations to external time series (resp, cardiac, motion...) and an option for more stable ICA components, which will make exploration within the ICA denoising approach a lot easier. Very happy to guide anyone who wants to explore! github.com/ME-ICA/tedan...

I do worry the benefits are sometimes overhyped. I get a reliable 8% increase in contrast-to-noise & sometimes a lot better. For a method that works on the edge of noise thresholds, that's important & I think the methods will get better, but a few claims of current benefits seem to be much larger.
I can discuss protocols/analysis if you want to reach out.
Glad to hear! Please reach out directly or in any of our public forums ( neurostars.org/tag/multi-echogithub.com/ME-ICA/tedan... ) if you or others in your group have questions or ideas.

FWIW a modest additional factor is removing identifying info from human volunteers can require processing. This is fine but points to the challenges of designing a fully universal approach.
I've also seen the push to automatization result in less human quality checks and obvious problems are missed. Not a problem with automatization, but a problem of thinking automatization is the solution and forgetting about how it might alter human behavior
