Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) survived its close encounter with the Sun. Now shining brightly each morning. From 11th October should be a fine sight in the evenings looking west. Although probably best seen in binoculars. 🔭 🧪 #astrophotography

For the next few weeks Jupiter will appear close to the Crab Nebula (M1). A nice photographic opportunity. Best captured after 2am. 🔭 🧪 #astrophotography

Tomorrow morning early risers might just be treated to a view of Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS. Look below to the right of the Moon and just above the eastern horizon, around 6.20am. Binoculars probably needed. Only observe if the Sun hasn't risen. 🔭 🧪

This morning's 22.9% illuminated waning gibbous Moon. 🔭

A telescopic image of a waning crescent Moon showing dark, vast lava plains and many impact craters.
