I live a mile from my office. At the most with this car I lived 6 miles away. And now I telework half the time. Most of those miles are from me wandering around Arizona and the Southwest US, just marveling at the scenery. Or even the scenery closer to home. Sometimes I drive 20 miles for tacos.
…I’d be a fool to leave. With the low interest and a promotion I wasn’t expecting I will have it paid off the same month my pension maxes out (a little less than 10 years from now) so I can retire debt free. Fortunately I have a paid for gas car now and it’s very reliable.
I have this problem too. And it’s a brand new building. I’m the first owner of my condo. I even put a deposit on it before construction. I begged the developer to add charging ports. It would have been so cheap to do that during construction. I have a crazy low pandemic era interest rate so…
…When I drove it from Arizona to Illinois and back again this summer to my childhood trauma zone to spend a few months helping my mom as she recovered from surgery, it was still comfortable for long distances and regularly got 40 mpg. There were flat stretches where I got 42 mpg.
