JFC! Even if we can eliminate all CO₂ emissions from fossil fuels with carbon dioxide removal (CDR) or carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) (we can't; not even close), we shouldn't keep setting carbon on fire because air pollution from combustion will still kill millions of people every year.
'we put the carbon in the air and then we take it out of the air and make it into diamonds and sell the diamonds'-energy from our resident very serious person, thank goodness for his powerful brain
Burning fossil fuel releases a whole cocktail of carcinogenic toxins including radioactive isotopes; acid rain. It is also madness to burn a vital and limited chemical resource vital to industry and pharma. Burning oil is a waste & a crime against humanity.
Why are you even looking at things there, David! Save your blood pressure, they won't listen (and you're, answering it here anyway?!)
He is not wrong We will set less carbon on fire, but we won't stop
he's so ducking stupid
Everyone forgets that CO2 is just one of millions of air pollutants released by combustion. We deserve clean air AND a livable climate.
“If Daddy keeps paying my bail, then I can continue committing crimes, because jail is bad.”
CCS is needed, but as a stopgap to help us transition, not as an excuse to burn more fossil fuels - not least because there's limited space to store CO2. It helps us transition to green hydrogen and manufacture fertiliser and concrete, for example.
He is happily one of the dumbest people online.
