Every bit of this!!! Sat up most of last couple of nights worrying about friends and family. Asheville is 495 miles from where Helene made landfall in Steinhatchee. That’s about Neah Bay, WA (on the Pacific) to Coeur d’Alene, ID. Or Montauk to Pittsburgh.
So far all my family and friends in states across the region are ok… except… still waiting to hear from my great aunt in Florida. None of us have heard from her or her daughter.

Was talking to my 90 year old mother talk about a visit to a family graveyard a long time ago. Each of her grandmothers had 10 children. She wanted me to remember that the little graves were for babies who died because of a lack of medical care.
