Literally any discussion of AI/LLMs in higher ed that doesn't start with its massive exploitation of low-paid workers, the worsening environmental issues at play, and how much training data has been and continues to be stolen to develop these models is such a non-starter!
This is the thing I've been thinking about ever since the Chevron decision came down. This is part of the same movement that is systematically undermining and attacking higher ed in the US. Expertise is seen as a threat.
