“We’ll pay for the bombs that are trying to murder you, but not for the flight to escape those bombs”

US embassy in Beirut tweet: The U.S. Embassy is not evacuating U.S. citizens at this time. There is a commercially available flight that U.S. citizens who expressed interest in departing Lebanon will have to book and pay directly with the airline.

I don't see any current or future possible leader of the US or Canada who would take action to prevent Palestine from being wiped out. Some would absolutely revel in it though, and others might express regret.

UBI is proof that we do not actually care about evidence when it comes to policy, because I struggle to find a better example of something so consistently shown to be beneficial and yet it’s never even brought up as a serious option outside of endless pilot programs that all tell us the same thing

Our right wing parties take their lead from yours, so we're typically about 1-2 election cycles behind. In my province the leader of the opposition party that is currently surging is an unapologetic MAGA hat wearing anti-vaxxer that has plans to increase housing costs.

I'm dealing with it on the Canadian side of a similar (but slightly behind) problem, but yeah, again, I agree with you.

I 100% agree with you. That being said, I also find it very morally repugnant to vote for people that have innocent blood on their hands. Everything sucks.
