As I understand it, the suits do different things - the biggest being that the SpaceX suit is built to receive cool air during entry while interior of the capsule heats, but the Boeing suit has no such provision (relying instead on the entire capsule to remain temperate)

This is not as dumb as it seems. Redundancy in design means that the suits aren’t compatible; but it also means that if one suit is discovered to have a flaw worthy of grounding that suit (and therefore the capsule it works with), we can keep going to space on option B.

@drgitlin.bsky.social please write about this for Ars, but give me a 10m heads up before you post so I can get my popcorn and soda ready for the comments

Every year I think I’ll email for the Jets WYTS. And every year I decide that doing so would be inviting trauma flashbacks, so I abstain. Then I read the Jets WYTS and have the flashbacks anyway, plus the regret of not sharing my pain with the world. Fuck woody, fuck Rodgers, fuck the jets, fuck.

Procedurally, how does something get undismissed? Does the court retain jurisdiction over the matter indefinitely even after a dismissal?

And if a court decides that it isn’t an official act, would directing the jail warden to ignore the courts ruling also be an official act? How about pardoning the warden in advance?
