i think you are trying to find a hidden sense in OP's post, that simply doesn't exist. i don't know about your country, but in Ukraine the phrase "they are not humans" simply means "I can't believe that a human could do something that horrible", it is not literal in 99,9% of the time

no it's not easy, especially if you specifically fight to NOT become like them we are not seeing them as not humans, we are seeing them as humans who have no soul, no mercy, no love, no dignity, no honor, nothing i lived in occupation for years, i saw what they do - they hate and destroy
