The closest I've been to having representation was... living in a riding that didn't have a conservative MP for one month. Which has nothing to do with my supposed voice in government.
I cannot say that I live in a democracy when I have never had any say in anything. I have never even voted for a winning candidate—ever. And every time I try to go through the official channels for getting my voice heard (contacting my MP/MPP), I am reminded of this.
