I was just rewatching Eight Men Out about the 1919 Black Sox scandal, and there’s a line ‘his team, his ballpark’. No different to people’s attitude to social media platforms now. If they hadn’t accrued so much money and reach in the late 90s and early 00’s maybe it could have been different.
