If you're encouraging your friends with controlling spouses to vote, recommend early voting in person. Remind them their spouse or parents cannot find out who they voted for. They can say it was no-wait and on the way back from an errand. They didn't think about it.

My friend moved to rural Arkansas in the early 2000s. When he and his wife went to vote, they told him that they could share a booth so that he could "help" her vote. Poll workers allow this to happen!

Related; for all my canvassing buddies who knock on doors where one partner says “we vote xx” or don’t allow access to their partner, don’t push! It may cause conflict or violence in the household.
