I love my work a lot but there is a lot involved with psychiatry and it's a very reductionist take to say that eating better and getting outside more will heal an actual chemical imbalance in the brain. Like bro there's a lot of moving parts
It feels like this is such a common thing going around fitness and wellness channels right now. I'm actually very on board with complementing traditional medical practices with wellness steps when it comes to mental illness but thinking eating a bunch of beef will cure mental illness is CRAZY.
If I have to hear one more insecure man tell me that grounding myself by putting my feet in the grass, taking ice baths, and eating less seed oils and more protein will cure my Major Depressive Disorder, I'm going to break all the bones in my fist on someone's jaw. 🫰
