That's a pretty good swath.

Screenshot of a map showing where the Aurora borealis is likely visible right now, in the form of a pale green band that fades to white around the edges. It covers most of Canada and dips down into the northern United States.

"All this week I’ve been trying to take in the scale of it, and I can’t. But I wanted to tell you about one of the places and some of the people. I also wanted to get down what it was like to not really know what happened and to slowly start to figure it out." flaminghydra.com/issue-173/

Skittish about real bats, especially when putting on footwear

The Merry Shelley, a Mary-Shelley-themed bar in Buffalo, has this lamp on year ‘round. Despite my recent bat bite and attendant to-do, its shadow bats delight me

A globe of green glass with black silhouettes of jack o’lanterns, bats, late-autumnal trees, non-gory Halloween friends. Light inside the globe casts the shadows of all these creatures onto the surrounding corner of wall and bookshelf. If the Keats poem “O thou whose face hath felt the winter’s wind” were a lamp in a goth bar, it would be this one.
