I had an amazing time and I learned a lot of Italian, some of which I later used to swear at a guy who tried to steal my bag in Naples station

(There’s no bin collection to your house: you take your rubbish to the big communal dumpster at the end of the road, or at least you did in the early 2000s. The smell was intense)

I spent a summer in Italy once while on a course. It’s obviously not the same as living there, but I did have to deal with the bins, so I’m counting that as experience.

Not at all! I’ve had gestational diabetes twice (although I’m not anywhere near being diabetic when not pregananant) so I’m aware of quite a few of the pitfalls and the stealthy carbs. Plus, GDM gets exponentially worse week by week.

That would be incredible! I lost a friend to T1D in her 30s. I still can’t believe she’s gone.
