It's interesting how different parts of Kant get emphasized along the analytic/continental divide. The analytics love the second critique and praise Kant mainly as an ethicist. The continentals love the first and third critiques and praise Kant as a metaphysician.

I just started three new meds. I'm testing out a smoky mead with lightly caramelized honey, a traditional mead with wildflower honey, and a ginger citron mead. That last one might end up bitter, there's a lot of citron peels in it.

Even highly conceptual art is made explicit. It's as though artists (or more likely the curators who elevate them) are terrified of the free play of ideas. Interpretation must be headed off at the pass so as to leave nothing up to the viewer.

Why must everything be made explicit? That seems to be the dominant trend of the last twenty years. It's true in art, politics, and even philosophy. In philosophy that might be a virtue, but it's dubious in politics, and actively damaging to art.

I know hypocrisy is table stakes here, but the way conservative media conglomerates have bought up and then destroyed local media all over the country has been a huge problem for decades now.
