I have lot of great artist friends out there who help me out when I need a leg up in tough times. Whether they can help or not, in the end what means the most to me is the effort. Thank you!
Yesterday was my wife’s birthday, so I took her out to breakfast, and in the afternoon we went to the Alamo Drafthouse to engage in the “BARBENHEIMER” experience. It was a wonderful time, and again, I so love the Alamo!
I did a similar thing. I had some con money in my studio account, so I bought a few artist sketchbooks from a few friends who just put out their first art book.
John Romita Sr. once gave me the most insightful, helpful critique of my work when I was first starting out as a freelancer. He was kind but truthful, and it helped me be reflective about my work. Losing him is a major loss to us all. I am a nobody, but he gave a damn about everyone he talked to.
Nothing … this is the result of a social platform that is invite only.
So wonderful!
Thank you so much for saying this. It’s things like this that make me feel comfortable, and make me feel like this community is worth promoting and building on. The lack of this is why I am leaving Twitter. Period.
Next week I will be at the amazing OCon Expo at the Mid American Center in Council Bluffs, IA on July 21-23. I will be holding a drawing workshop and the artist jam will be sponsoring a free coloring station for families! For more information, visit https://www.theoconexpo.com !
