going pretty well today, some strange slowness on wezterm, so switched back to alacritty on this machine. other than that it's my standard configuration of sway/waybar/mako/wofi

Good news is that asahi installs really easily! Bad news is performance issues still exist. Wondering if it’s a wayland related?

tonights plan is to try asahi linux - hopefully without destroying my mac. Checking through the installer it looks quite comprehensive

Trying out the apple backend on UTM with a fresh install of arch. Slow and quite a lot of strange, transient graphics bugs

Same issue when in increase the resolution - assume it's something to do with gpu? I've tried some settings but not been able to resolve it. I also have an upside down cursor on river.

just did the minimum to get river wm running and it seems a lot faster

apart from their is some horrible lag going on - not enough to be completely usuable but enough to make me regret some life choices

actually putting some time into this - getting up and running with the arch linux arm port on UTM (QEMU wrapper) and it's running quite well!

I’m not a gamer anymore, so don’t need anything punchy. The appeal of a repairable, modular laptop with a great screen is what interests me.
