I have definitely had tickets checked by hand at Euston for long-distance trains (Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow...) but can't actually remember if I've been on one like that since the pandemic.

If you're upset by art not being damaged in protest against climate change, I can only imagine how furious you'll be at the actual damage to art caused by climate change.

In my mind, I picture wombats as badger or possum sized, but they're ... um ... not.

I'll be there with colleague Felix* repping the Royal College of Physicians rare books and archives. *who definitely thinks of History Day as 'Katie catches up with the roughly 300 short-haired knitting archivists/librarians she knows day'.

Ooh, yeah, that all sounds like university administration all right. Sorry you're embroiled in it.

I've definitely seen it said that climate change effects will mean rain in heavier bursts, so this is certainly plausible. (And accords with my own anecdotal experience: I don't remember sudden surface-water flash flooding being so common 20 years ago.)

Also just any old random phrase from the WtP books. 'A great big nothing like a jar'. Or 'Do you know what a spusdge is, Owl?' or, I'm afraid, 'It goes in and out like anything'.

:) I've had 'And grow in health and wisdom and riches!' in my head for a few weeks, and knew it was from Pooh and didn't manage to track it down and now I have, thank you! Three cheers for the wonderful Winnie the Pooh! (see also: Owl says it's his tree and Kanga says it's her tree.)

Uh-oh, I'm getting a 503 error. Think quite a few people might be trying to improve their Thursdays with Kells!
