❓ Why do we buy into the "glacial purity" myth? How can we help change production practices in the water industry? Is it enough to change our water consumption preferences to safeguard glaciers and their ecosystems? Let us know in the comments!

🧑‍💼 Some producers of bottled waters are making amends, working on solutions to reduce emissions and pollution. Will their efforts be enough, or too little, too late? Only time can tell. Time that our glaciers don’t have anymore.

😟 As glaciers retreat, the water we associate with purity is being exploited, accelerating the very forces melting these irreplaceable giants. 📉 At the current rate of melting, Switzerland could lose all of its glaciers by the end of the century. These are sentinels of our future.

😮‍💨 Meanwhile, the bottled water industry is responsible for significant carbon emissions—from extraction, packaging, and transportation. Bottled water production in Europe alone emits up to 100 times more CO₂ than tap water, contributing directly to climate change.

🇨🇭 In Switzerland, glaciers are disappearing at an alarming rate. Between 1931 and 2016, half of Swiss glacier volume was lost, with the rate of melting accelerating rapidly since 2000. 🇫🇷 France’s Mont Blanc glaciers have seen a 30% reduction in ice volume in just 40 years.

🧊💧 Marketing Glacier Purity: At What Cost? 🏔️ Glaciers are often used as symbols of purity by the water industry, but the exploitation of these natural wonders for profit comes at a steep environmental price. While glaciers melt, water producers are bottling glacial meltwater, selling it as "pure".
