Are you ready for some #KnockKnockWhosBear this week? Take a look at this photo. Let me know what bear species you think it is & why. I'll post a location clue in 1hr, who sent the photo in 2hr, & will reveal/explain in 3hr. Get your bear goggles on and give this one a try!
I think black bear and the "hump" is just that it has its left shoulder raised.
Black bear? I feel like stance is making the shoulders look more humped than they are. The ears seem distinct though.
I vote black bear. Totally just going on a hunch... and enough years of seeing them in the woods. :)
with the ears and the two-toned muzzle I'd say black bear, so the big shoulders could be shoulder blades at an angle and not a brown bear hump
That's a black bear. Long ears, straight muzzle, body that is more long than square. The "hump" is simply an artifact of how the animal is standing and the angle of its shoulders. The clue gives me added confidence since there are no brown bears there.
Tricky bc hump, but I think that’s just the specific pose maybe? Ears look like black bear ears! I say black bear and am as always prepared to be wrong!
I am also guessing black bear
The shoulder says "brown" but those ears say "black". 🤔
Methinks black bear. Going by gestalt.
