Blimey. I'm not sure much would get me to go back. Luckily, my lad lives in Lyon, and I'm hoping my daughter will come out when she's finished her studies.
Very nice. I can only imagine the tempetes in Gironde. We have the wind to deal with here. I've yet to visit the region, but my Mum, who was a massive Francophile, would always rave about how beautiful Île d'Oléron and the surrounding area is.
That's a nice part of the world, too. Where are you based.?
We are not far from Prades, about 40 minutes west of Perpignan along the Têt Valley.
It was a pretty good display that night. I'm hopeful for tonight. This was another good one. youtu.be/1Ke4zQYqT7Y?...

Perfect. I shot this one night when the skies were going mad here. There has been no digital tinkering with this video. youtu.be/_fJ7CM_MMCE?...

It's simply stunning if you're far enough away from any light pollution. Some evenings here in the Winter can be so clear. I remember one New Year's Eve, leaving our friend's place and zig-zagging our way home under the most incredible skies I have ever seen. The forecast is looking good...
I'm torn between buying a telescope and a drone right now. I'm planning a timelapse video tonight, as the Milky Way might be visible, and the moon is but a slither. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the weather, as a few planets should be visible.
