NASA was going to send up 4 astronauts now for a normal 6-month shift. Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore got stuck at ISS. NASA just sent up 2 of the planned team. Suni & Butch are picking up the hours of the other 2. They will all come back when the original crew was scheduled to return. 2/2
It looks like no general news source understands what's going on. Note "expect to bring them home in February." IT'S NOT A RESCUE. It's a normal 6-month shift. They just asked Suni and Butch to pull a long double shift. 1/2
Oh, so THAT'S how "Rude" appears in a thread. Thank you, kind Alice!
Hey Rude, don't make it bad.
For me, that's clear-quill uncut thionite nerd-sniping. What important facts did you learn about Heian-era carriages?
I had read about GRRM and Silverberg and the Hugo Ceremony from Hell, but I don't know about any other screwups. Do you have a link handy, or should I dive into File 770 or something? -- BTW, I've seen so many complaints but never the truth: how *do* you pronounce FIYAH?
I was following r/newzealand during the pandemic and seeing the pictures of big music festivals and such without worry because they stopped COVID-19 at the border twice. Since they spent so much of the pandemic pandemicless, they get absolutely no passes on it.
you might study refraction and get things like the diffraction limit (can't focus tighter than the wavelength or a spot brighter than the source) ... but [airhorn] metamaterials with a refractive index < 1 kills a premise, & the diffraction limit and more goes poof. 2/2
Yes, it is necessary, even though the proof is extremely easy. You really should have a firm foundation before you build the house just to be sure, lest you assume something obvious & it turns out not to be true & your edifice collapses. Example: 1/2
I've seen a forecast calling that "unsurvivable".
