In the "olden days" (ie pre-covid) it was normal to turn up to meeting rooms a few minutes early, chat with others in the room, grab a drink, etc. - but now turning up to a Teams (other platforms are possible) meeting 5 mins early just marks you out as some kind of needy oddball.
