This study from The Economist finds that for every 1 life the heaviest 1% of passenger vehicles save, they take 12 lives in other cars. NZ needs to avoid the US' vehicle arms race. Tax vehicles by weight and require heavy vehicle licences for big double-cab utes. www.economist.com/interactive/...

I agree with the overall argument, but the authors didn’t put in much effort to access data beyond 2100. For SSP1-2.6, there are at least 10 models with data out to 2300 accessible via ESGF, as opposed to the 2 they found on AWS.
