Today I encountered a phone hold system that requires I "press 1 to continue to stay on hold" or "press 2 to enter a phone number for a call back" and hangs up otherwise. This prompt came up every 30 seconds. WHO CAME UP WITH THIS? I am ready to blow my brains out holy shit.

The real crux of the issue imo is that there’s no subcultures on bsky. It’s kind of all one big blob right now. But separating different communities into feeds is probably the way for them to create their own subcultures. So it shouldn’t feel weird to open a technical feed and see technical content.

I think custom feeds are the solution to this. On Twitter “the algorithm” is tuned very specifically for me to only see technical ML content and nothing else. Here it’s still more scattershot. Thinking of hacking up a quick “MLbsky” feed and just adding a few accounts there to start.
