ah your from the north east? :D I'm also from there although recently moved back to Manchester. (sorry for replying to one of your old posts haha)
Relatedly, I met someone recently who was an anti-vaxxer and bit of a conspiracy nut who I think voted for Reform but he was extremely accepting towards me. If you want to visit, don't let our horrendous political-media class put you off. That's something more that us Brit trans' have to deal with.
As others have said transphobia in Britain is very much an elite bigotry here with a lot of institutional capture by TERFs across the political and media spectrum. "Normal people" are usually at worse ambivalent but mostly people have a "mind your own business" kind of attitude.
I'm gonna assume your American but I would say it is no worse than America and nowhere in Britain is as unsafe for trans people as some of the deepest red states in the US (imo).
Normally avoid trans discourse here, but can we cut this fucking "haha terf island basically all British people are terfs" shit out please? It's not only untrue, but spreading it emboldens actual terfs while also making British baby transes feel like nobody has their backs. It's deeply unhelpful.
god Americans are insufferable
to defend Corbyn a bit over this, it was McDonnell who pushed for it within his camp
I'm turning into the Live, Laugh, Love Joker ovuh here
still find it funny sometimes how much transitioning has made me into a basic white bitch
wtf what happened to her
