Oh for sure. Also, so embarrassed I misspelled Oort... By the time your dropping stuff from the Oort cloud you're not worried about the war you're just making sure you glassed the planet. You already have nukes and more than enough to make sure humanity doesn't survive so why bother?
Some people just have no concept of basic physics. The only cheapish way to do this would be to fly out and grab rocks from the Ort cloud. A smallish delta-v adjustment out there would be enough to bring doom back here. Deorbiting something large enough to matter from the moon however? good luck.

At this point it might be a fair enough trade to still be worth it. If it's an effective treatment for opioid and alcohol addiction while treating the obesity epidemic... mega butt cancer risk might be worth it.
Oh God I can go on about how dumb the Rods from God thing is but the gist of it boils down to: You can't get more energy from the impact than you spent putting the thing up there, and you didn't light off a nuke to get the thing up there.

I do too but I think we have to expect and even encourage some hybrid usage while another platform is bootstrapping. At first I thought it was gonna be Threads but... yeah that turned out terrible. Still better than post-Musk Twitter but pad. Bluesky is looking viable right now.
