Some of the most popular activity requests also seem the hardest to achieve. I can envision a film screening with masks and filters. Dining is hard - would have to be outside and lots of spacing. Still possible. The survey is still open if you want to chime in: tinyurl.com/jaydocovidev...

I made a simple survey asking what COVID-safe events people would want to go to if they were safe, and what precautions/mitigations they would want in place to consider it safe. Summary data from 186 responses so far: airtable.com/shr17p6CCnbz...

Top 5 Mitigations requested: masking required, air filtration, outside or outdoor seating, ventilation, rapid or pcr testing of some kind
Top 6 activities: concerts / shows, restaurants / dining out, movies / film screenings, gym, theater, anything!

"It's not uncommon to see somebody get COVID in Jan, then in Apr, and again in Sept. We often see that by that 2nd or 3rd infection, they develop long COVID. That, for me, is very concerning." -Amy Edwards, MD, (Assoc Med Dir. for Infection Control at Univ Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children's Hosp)

70% of cases are transmitted by kids.

Kids under 8 are more likely to transmit than kids 9-17.

75% of non-healthcare outbreaks start in schools/daycares

Teachers of young children are 67% more likely to get Covid than an average occupation

24% of kids hospitalized have symptoms past 5 mos

60% have subclinical systolic cardiac impairment 5 mos after an asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic infection

Type I Diabetes ~doubled in kids with Covid

It’s never too late to become a big COVID scold. Or rather, believe that healthcare should be safe and people should be healthier after encountering it.

🤦‍♂️ of course. It’s always about providing unrequited courtesy and deference to billionaires

This is part of it but I’ve heard cheek/throat/nose swabbers get confusing results or neg when sick.
