We have duped by haters and conflict entrepreneurs to think that people are far less trustworthy, open-minded & thoughtful than they really are. Cynicism ruins our lives. It makes us bitter, lonely, and paranoid. It’s healthy to be skeptical, but cynicism is a poison pill for people and society.
I just finished HOPE FOR CYNICS by Jamil Zaki. The book is brilliant and makes a powerful case that human nature is, at its core, far more prosocial than most people believe. I highly recommend it! Definitely a must read
