Why don’t you evacuate? Is a bullshit question to begin with but it’s gonna be a real big problem when one of these storms targets NYC or Boston. Fuck you can’t drive through either easily on a normal day.
Yup. And I’ll donate time and money and effort to help them. But I will always remember the prick from Brooklyn on the old Twitter spreading misinformation about levee collapses and saying we shouldn’t rebuild Louisiana while a Cat 4 churned over my mother’s house.
I paid attention and didn’t even know that happened. Part of the problem is our entire media is located between DC and New York and that’s why Mississippi got wiped off the map during Katrina but New Orleans got all the coverage. NYC reporters have partied in NOLA so they covered it.
We took a tree hit during Katrina but were mostly fine. My parents lived in an RV until after New Years and every weekend from August to March was spent cutting trees and fixing things on someone’s property. And we were the “lucky” ones.
Oh this one. Every time this one. We should abandon New Orleans but Manhattan, an island in the ocean, well it’s special. Hurricane Sandy was a weak Cat One but it got to be a “Super Storm” because it hit where “important” people live.
Throwing this out there if anyone wants to help. www.wral.com/story/how-to...
Western North Carolina was crippled by historic flooding and life-threatening conditions from the impacts of Tropical Storm Helene. Many organizations are working to support those in need during this ...
I remember what it was like when it was my home and my people. Wish I could do more.
Donated. Thank you.
That’s all I’ve got for now. If you know of orgs taking donations for Hurricane relief let me know and I’ll do whatever I can to spread it around.
