Ah! Fascinating. Not sure about France but wouldnā€™t be surprised if Italian norms also followed there as so many other similarities.

Interesting, in Italy in the period I know about, so a bit earlier, women seemed to be in charge of hair dressing, eyebrow plucking et al. Servants but also specialists whoā€™d go from home to home.

Interesting! Did men normally dress womenā€™s hair in 17th c Scotland I wonder? Doesnā€™t seem to be the case in early modern Italy. Will get going with some early modern hairdressing imagesā€¦
