Out sampling Green Salamanders again this week in Kentucky (with proper permits). Found this very large individual but unfortunately had to leave him behind because he had one too many toes 🧪 🦎

That’s a wrap on a great week learning more of the ins and out of 3D Slicer. Thank you to the SlicerMorph team for teaching and Andras Lasso for sharing his expertise. Made great progress on my extensions and can’t wait to bring home what I’ve learned.

Hi friends! I’m Jaida! I study sharks and their movement and I’m a PhD student in the MIT-WHOI joint program! I LOVE science communication! My main form of scicomm is videos, but feel free to ask me questions! I function via typing as well😁🦈

Check out the fat reserves in this ruby throated hummingbird! #oVertTCN #diceCT scan revealed large pockets of fat storage all along this teeny body. Fueled by nectar, these birds can double their body fat before migrating, & then lose most of it migrating 100s of miles.

Hi, I'm Jonathan! I study the functional morphology and evolution of fishes (how they feed and use suction cups) and salamanders (how they climb and are adapted for living in trees). Currently a PhD candidate at George Washington University 🧪🐠🦎
