Funny, now that you mention it, very few ryes I've drank even had bready notes. Of course, a "rye" in Canada does not legally have to be 100% rye grain. The only rye I've had that had serious bready notes was made by a small family distiller in Leduc called Red Cup.

Have you looked into the work of the Center on Conscience and War? They aren't on Bluesky yet, but they have written a lot of good material over the years not only for #conscientiousobjectors, but also on avoiding war taxes. Not sure how successful the latter effort have been though...
