I enjoy sharing this link when I can when I see people starting to learn about this topic! I think itโs crucial in truly understanding the concept of decolonization. clas.osu.edu/sites/clas.o...
I understand your pain. Binding gave me nerve damage so I rarely do it now even though it alleviates dysphoria greatly.
the sword slashes trans femmes on whoโs โgood nonbinary,โ and it slashes against types like myself who spoiler alert- do not want to be sorted by my birth assignment at all. Misogyny impacts all marginalized genders, not just the โsafe ones with vulvasโ (which is also what it sounds like to me)
I just wonโt ever not see โnonbinary afabโ as a way to stab at trans femmes and reassert your association to colonial ideas of cis womanhood, regardless if an individual who uses such terms realizes those deep and harsh implications
AFAB and AMAB are crunchy terms our community uses in specific medical contexts and frankly, will likely shed when we find better language to describe base body types. Thereโs genuinely no need for it to be apart of your gender unless you want to differ from the โyucky transsexualsโ
it surprisingly doesnโt take long for someone who navigates with a โnonbinary AFABโ label to effectively be my generationโs version of โwomynโ and spit out horrific TERF sentiment and overall transphobia. I feel isolated but I know what I have to do going forward to myself and my doll safe.
my coping mechanism for the rest of the week is hanging on to living so I can probably see Jade squash a bunch of girls in the Royal Rumble ๐คผ
me having an awful psychiatric episode but knowing I will be cured through the power of matzo ball soup and perhaps even another meaty snack
if RAW isnโt careful, Iโll whip out โBoots of Leather, Slippers of Goldโ to academically explain why Maxine Dupri and Ivy Nile are femme-butch perfection ๐คผ
