(If Iād known Iād add to this, I might have been less spendthrift with characters above!) To elaborate, I think āfind pictures of my dog Bruno between January and Marchā is a great use for AI. I think āthrow my unique voice down the toiletā is an awful use. Most seem to resemble the former, thnkflly
Iām generally anti-AI, but also like the new iOS tools. But the āmake this text ābusinesslikeāā button infuriates me. It feels like the fundamental disconnect in American politics to me: the GOP expects its voters to adapt to views it dictates, instead of being responsive to views of voters. Trump personifies it: he stakes a position, and the rest of the party must follow. They donāt want to persuade/be persuaded
This ties so strongly to the homogeneity issue Iāve always argued: if people actually start using these things, we all start sounding the same, and language (and so many related concepts) become redundant boilerplate, instead of useful communication tools

Over time, Slashdot comments were loaded with people who didn't, uh, RTFA (which became a common refrain). When I saw the frequency at which that happened, I made conscious efforts not to fall into the same trap. You'd think others might do the same, but.. š¤·āāļø I suspect the bandwagon works both ways..
holy shit yes
Bob's confirmation was on Zoom, but it was still wild to be in a tiny call with a member of the JCS!
