Yep. I live in Beckenham, 2 roads from the border with Penge & a London postcode (Penge & Crystal Palace are also in Bromley) & I spend my life explaining to people that I live in London. Not sure I am a Londoner yet though as I grew up in deepest darkest Hampshire & am still to adjust.

I'm glad you said that, as I am too.

WWII rescue worker holding a cat after a V-bomb attack. London, 1945. www.gettyimages.com/detail/news-...

Black and white photo of a white man dressed in a dark uniform with cap. He is looking down at a white and ginger cat that he holds securely in his arms. Behind them is pure devastation, rubble and destroyed buildings and more rescue workers surveying the damage.

But unfortunately not unusual.

The sad thing is that he is a really intelligent thoughtful & funny person but somewhere around 2014 he fell down a right wing rabbit hole & its taken hold. His kids don't speak to him & I find it really hard, but he's family & I hope that he will wake up & see how mad & destructive this all is.

As the BBC announces that its the hottest day of the year so far, the cat moves from the top of the bookcase to snuggle herself as close to me as possible. She's now outraged by the fan as its ruffling her fur.

He did not believe me when I pointed out that Starmer was only elected 4 weeks ago, has a huge majority, & a lot of MPs very grateful to be elected, as he read it it an authoritive website - there was a subtext that as I woman i don't understand these things.

The US discourse is crazy. I spoke to a family member, based in the US who is pro-Trump, but fortunately can't vote, yesterday & he very confidently told me that Starmer is going to imminently face a vote of no confidence & be replaced. I also think he thought Farage was going to be the new PM.
