But I was told that the Supreme Court had ushered in a glorious new era in which The People in The States would get to have a voice on abortion
nothing says ‘freedom’ like playing a never-ending game of legal whack-a-mole with basic fucking rights
They also forgot that Texas won't allow voters to add it to the ballot until 2/3 of the legislature puts it on there, so that's another "send it to the states" that was never going to be decided by the people.
An abortion measure is also on the ballot in Arizona, prop 139. Should help in gotv efforts and should theoretically pass. Should also help Dems in an unexpectedly tough state.
One of the great things about moving to Arizona is the standard of mail-in voting. A lot of stuff I could have time to research first over time. And I know this ballot will be chock full of this stuff.
The People keep voting the Wrong Way, so we have to silence them.

I mean judicial elections are IMO a bad idea but….
ALT: a man in a white shirt is sitting on the floor and says not like this .
(I know it’s bad faith, and the real answer, but-) I’ve never understood the argument for the states being the correct level to decide. If it’s about local control, why not the county, or even the city? It’s so arbitrary. And eventually you just get back to “let the individual decide”
