I don't think it's wrong to say that "trans" is a culturally-specific interpretation of dysphoria and gender non-conformity. It's possible to use "trans" in culturally non-specific ways to refer to some kind of fundamental TS experience ofc...
It is annoying! And oddly more cognitive load than shots because you don't know where your levels are actually at without bloods. I think I lost this thread halfway, I just meant there's nothing perfect. Iirc Sweden has an E injection with an ~3 month cadence, like lupron? I'd love to try that.
So you get a huge spike a month or so after getting them in, then a few months later your levels are bad but not bad enough to get a new pellet, then you spend a month being perimenopausal, then you get a new pellet if you're lucky (else you miss the pellet running out and get a T spike)
In Australia we have pellets as the default after 1-2 years; they're very stable, but they need to be surgically implanted, sometimes they get covered in scar tissue and don't work, and the decay in levels is linear over the whole 3-6 months they take to dissolve.

Sometimes it feels like the easiest way people can interpret dysphoria is by treating it like dysmorphia "you're body isn't wrong, it's beautiful and you should love yourself" "women can have penises, it's ok" We have a weird taboo against body mods - the concern feels like a rationalization of it
I think the reason it's so popular in the community is a mix of all three factors, + you never hear about basic white girl monog trans women bc they don't engage as much as the super alt people
I've known some trans women who really do have a poly orientation, and some babytrans who have no boundaries/wonky attachments and sex all their friends Gay communities were super kinky before those orientations were normalised, too, some of it feels like a product of alienation
