Funny how my new PC died and now I'm forced to clear out my old console backlog. I'd been putting it off for so long with all the new stuff coming out, that it's nice to be limited in my choices.

I think I'm just spoiled by games with writers who have a better understanding of class, politics, history, and how it affects the world today. Disco Elysium and Citizen Sleeper actually make use of the political groups in their imagined worlds, and directly tie them to our society today.

It's a shame because the game itself is amazing! Like so fucking good! But when even the most interesting concepts tie back to the dumbshit anti-communist ideas, it's hard to enjoy them. Like the replicants being gov brainwashed "perfect workers", completely erasing their sense of self.

I briefly considered they were being big brain and had the fascist government co-opting revolutionary terms to try to coax people into their colonies, but no! They just mash the two concepts together and propagate tired shit from the red scare era!
