I'm the strange quark! Hahaha of course. And hilariously my husband got charm quark, and Charm and Strange really do describe us well.

It's disgusting to read senior palaeontologists using their platforms to make fun of a situation that has cost so much blood in my country. What's funnier? The Allende massacre where 300 people were killed by Los Zetas in 3 days as an act of revenge? Or the 72 immigrants killed in 2 days in 2012?

Conversation between two palaeontologists -
Indeed. I hate having had to give working down there. Handed it over to Scott Sampson, but GSENM was much lower, funded fruit! Utah Friends of Paleontology The area is pretty incredible in all aspects of paleontology. Maybe promise to name a dino after one of the cartels to raise serious funds.
- Zetasaurus has a nice ring to it, but I suspect I'd get whacked by a rival cartel if I tried that

Been working on countering my anxiety by "being present" and "grounding myself in the moment" (pssshhhhhhhh) and kinda hate to admit it, but I do feel calmer whenever I give it a go.

See the quoted post above for more info. She's not really our pet, just a friend who lives in our window and has for months now. But we're getting worried about the winter and also want to see her live her best life. She's THRIVING here, but we aren't sure she will come colder times. ☹️

Hey, #arachnid#invertebrate Bluesky! We're trying to decide how to best help our accidental pet Webs take on the cooler months. She has trapped herself in our window by growing so big. We want to give her a chance to breed, survive winter if she can, etc! Should we attempt a catch and release? ⬇️

Saturday chores & I’ve already safely transported two beautiful spiders out of the danger zone of mopping & vacuuming. They’re now happily outside in my Autumn Pumpkin Patch Pageant so I can visit. You, too, can safely save & release your spider friends. Here’s how! (credit RecluseOrNot? twitter)

A graphic illustration of how to catch a spider.

How to safely catch and release a spider

Most spiders are more helpful than harmful. They earn their keep eating insects and other critters, but if you'd prefer not to have them in your home here's How to safely catch and release a spider:
Supplies
Drinking glass
Spider-catching card

1 Place cup over spider
(Please be careful not to squish my legs!)

2
Slowly slide card under cup and spider
(Spider: Give me a sec, I'll walk right on!)

3 Hold cup and card together to transport spider

4
Lift cup, let spider walk away
