Hanging out for the last of Tomās Cerebus posts and then Iām prolly cutting this app loose. Youāll find me over at the House Zuck built if you absolutely need to. Otherwise be good āļø
Second drafts are nearing conearing completion. I think Iām going to fire the manuscript off to a couple of beta readers this week with any luck. š¤
Got a good reminder this morning why Iāve completely disengaged from the comics community.
Part 13 of the Cerebus blog - it's a love story (awww) the Dave Sim way (oh no), so I spend quite a bit of time trying to unpick what's happened to Jaka. Also - the hot character find of 1997 - F Scott Fitzgerald! freakytrigger.co.uk/wedge/2024/0...
Excellent comic for a long while.
Halfway through The Stand and while Iām enjoying much of it, thereās a number of 1979 references (color television being rare, American International Pictures, etc) that donāt work in a story set in 1990. Reminds me a little too much of the effort to set the dates back on The Martian Chronicles.
Guy hasnāt produced anything memorable since he stealth-directed Dredd. Another Hawley/Esmail/Pizzolato high-concept, middling execution doofus.
Largely agree, but that so much hand-wringing is going to be extended over a fucking Alex Garland movie is regrettable.
I have all 5, planning at some point this year to just read Astro City all the way through completely finally. Iāve never gotten past the first few chapters of The Dark Age.
