We discovered and synthesized the first cyclopropane containing cuticular hydrocarbon from an arthropod, called sarekensane. The high-mountain springtail Vertagopus sarekensis uses it. Identification requires derivatization and GC/MS methods. See more in J. Nat. Prod. t.co/qObtLgiEFo
