We are very happy that Emily Balskus visited us today for the first @led3hub.bsky.social Lecture of the academic year. She gave an exciting overview of her group's research into using chemistry to better understand the human gut microbiome.
Amazing lectures at the @led3hub.bsky.social by two of the giants of the field of proteomics, Prof. Matthias Mann and Prof. Ruedi Aebersold. Thank you so much for giving your award lectures in Leiden and congratulations again on winning the Heineken Prizes.
We thank both awardees of the Heineken Prizes for giving excellent lectures at Leiden University. (4/4)
In his lecture, Prof. Ruedi Aebersold gave an insightful overview of the systems biology of a cell and how different technologies are needed to get a holistic picture of how cells work as Complex Adabtable Systems controled on the protein level. (3/4)
In his lecture, Prof. Matthias Mann showcased the importance of machine learning for the further development of proteomics as well as his group's impressive contributions towards bringing proteomics to the bedside to better understand human diseases and identify biomarkers. (2/4)
The @led3hub.bsky.social was very excited to host the two winners of the Dr H.P. Heineken Prize for Biochemistry and Biophysics 2024, Prof. Ruedi Aebersold and Prof. Matthias Mann, in front of a full lecture hall at the Faculty of Science of Leiden University. (1/4)
We had a small change in the program. The LED3hub Lecture by Paola Picotti was moved to February 6th, 2025.
This week we are kicking of the LED3hub Lectures of this academic year. We are very excited to again have an amazing lineup. If you are interested , you are very much invited to join us in Leiden for these exciting lectures. www.universiteitleiden.nl/en/science/l...
Great talk by Joel Rüegger from the Mario van der Stelt lab of the @led3hub.bsky.social@chembiotalks.bsky.social. He talked about his research on "CellEKT: A Chemical Proteomics Platform to Profile Cellular Target Engagement of Kinase Inhibitors Across >80% of the Kinome".
We are looking forward to having Emily Balskus for a LED3hub Lecture on Thursday, September 26th, at 4:00 p.m. She will give us insights into her group's work to discover, understand and manipulate microbial natural product synthesis pathways. If you are interested, come by!
